Grant Hill: I’ll be back this year

Two days after knee surgery, Suns forward Grant Hill expressed an optimistic
tone about a possible return before the end of the regular season.
“I mean I think I can,” Hill said Sunday. “[Doctor Thomas Carter] is pleased
with the surgery and what he saw in the there. I’ll be back this year.”
Dr. Carter repaired a medial meniscus tear in Hill’s right knee, which
underwent an arthroscopic procedure six months ago in September.
Even though he’s not able to play, Hill will travel with the team on its
upcoming three-game, four-day road trip.
“We can get a lot done,” explained Hill, who was cleared to get off crutches
before the Suns played the Hornets. “Do double, triple (rehab) sessions
daily. Being with Aaron (Nelson) and the training staff is probably the ideal
scenario.”
The Suns have 14 games remaining and currently sit 10th, a game-and-a-half
out of playoff spot in the Western Conference.
“It was serious,” Hill said of the surgery, “but it wasn’t — all along it was kind
of considered maybe two-to-three weeks so we’ll see what happens.”
