Report: ASU basketball to play Mississippi State in Las Vegas

ASU basketball has added another challenge to its 2018-19 schedule.
The Sun Devils will play the Mississippi State Bulldogs in the first round of the Main Event Basketball Tournament at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas on Nov. 19, according to a report from FRS Sports.
Saint Mary’s and Utah State will be the other matchup of the four-team tournament, with the winners and losers playing respectively on Nov. 21.
Head coach Bobby Hurley has never shied from scheduling his team challenging non conference opponents. The Sun Devils took down then No. 3 Kansas in Lawrence in December, and the Jayhawks will travel to Tempe this December.
ASU will begin a home-and-home series with the Georgia Bulldogs this season. The Sun Devils will travel to Athens this year, with the Bulldogs returning the favor in 2019-20.
The Sun Devils will enter the 2018-19 season with high expectations to improve on their roller coaster season.
ASU made the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2014, losing to Syracuse in a First Four matchup in Dayton.
