Arizona Cardinals quarterback Sam Bradford’s left knee is one of the team’s biggest storylines for this season.

The Cardinals, most of all, understand the value of putting him through the best process possible to be healthy and in a spot to succeed.

When joining 98.7 FM Arizona’s Sports Station’s Doug & Wolf on Thursday, Bradford complimented the way the team has planned for his health.

“The staff here is great,” he said. “A lot of places you see sometimes the strength staff and the training staff they kind of butt heads and they don’t really get along. One has one idea of what you should do and the other has another and the plans are almost two separate completely different plans.

“Whereas here, it’s very cohesive. Everyone works together.”

That has helped his move to the Valley, where Bradford is starting to get settled in.

“Being out here, just getting used to Phoenix, getting used to the area, making it feel like home — that transition has been great,” he said. “The transition here in the building I think has gone really smooth as well.”

Bradford is hoping to move on from what has been a testy past couple of seasons for himself and his body.

“It’s definitely been frustrating, especially last year,” he said. “My knee just didn’t want to play anymore.”

The Cardinals are being safe about Bradford’s knee, but at a certain point, they need to get going into high gear.

Bradford understands that ramping it up before training camp is important.

“From that point until now, I feel like we’ve made huge strides,” Bradford said of the program. “These next five weeks are big, just getting myself ready to go and that way when we get back here in July, we’re ready.”
