Free agency will begin with LeBron James, in some way.
The first domino in free agency fell Saturday after it was reported that Thunder free agent Paul George will re-sign with Oklahoma City, taking one of the biggest names available off the board. That now turns the attention to whoever succeeds in finding a deal to land Kawhi Leonard from the San Antonio Spurs, as well as James, who will set the tone for the offseason after he opted out of his contract with the Cleveland Cavaliers on Friday.
That said, decisions at lower tiers of the free agency class could be made early on as well, especially once teams believe that James, George and Leonard are linked to only a few teams.
The Phoenix Suns, barring involvement as a third party in a blockbuster for Leonard, have plans to get better and soon.
Here is what free agency is looking like for general manager Ryan McDonough’s staff now that the ball is officially rolling.
