October 16, 2012: Suns active roster stands at 16

More moves are expected but for right now, Othyus Jeffers is the first to go.

The Suns waived the 6-foot-5 shooting guard Monday.

A training camp invitee, Jeffers appeared in one game. He had two points, two rebounds and an assist in five minutes of playing time in the preseason opener at Sacramento.

The Suns have 16 players on the active roster.

While the team leaves today for a two-game, three-day trip, the club’s public relations department continues its trip around the state.

The Suns “All for Orange Express” bus tour is in its second day.

After opening in Phoenix and making three stops in Tucson Monday, the bus is now headed to Yuma and Lake Havasu City before reaching Flagstaff Wednesday.
