Goldschmidt shows off baserunning skills in fourth inning against Rockies

Arizona Diamondbacks first baseman Paul Goldschmidt is well known for his work with a baseball bat.

But what about his baserunning?

After the fourth inning of Saturday’s game against the Colorado Rockies, people may start taking notice to his skills running around the bags.

Looking at a 1-0 lead in the fourth, Nick Ahmed stepped up to the plate and hit a short fly ball in foul territory near first base.

That’s where Goldy turned on the speed.

Even though the ball looked too short to advance the runners, Goldy took off from third, using every inch of his body to catch the corner of home plate and miss the tag.

Goldschmidt’s extra effort turned out to be big for the D-backs.

After taking a 3-0 lead into the fifth inning, the Rockies responded with two runs to make it 3-2.
