Carson Palmer doesn’t look like he’s missing the football

There’s always that narrative.

A very smart, long-time football man quits the NFL because of father time, but in his heart, the love of the game yearns for him to return.

Carson Palmer is not that football man. The former Arizona Cardinals quarterback appears to be doing just fine in retirement.

Just look at his Instagram feed full of golf and time spent with his kids. Oh, and if that wasn’t telling enough, look at his most recent post.

As NFL training camps begin — quarterbacks reported in for Arizona on Monday — Palmer appears to be enjoying drinking fine drinks and getting caught off guard that it’s that time of year.

“Ohh..training camp started?” he captioned his latest post.

Indeed, Palmer went out on a sour, injury-related note in his final season with the Cardinals. But his quick and quiet exit from football life hinted that maybe he’d not be haunted by what-ifs — what if he returned for a final playoff run under a new coach and with Larry Fitzgerald and David Johnson back? What if he had more in the tank and just needed a revamped offensive line?

Nope, it doesn’t seem that Carson Palmer is missing the game.
