The Phoenix Mercury were well-represented in the WNBA All-Star game.

Guard Diana Taurasi, forward DeWanna Bonner and center Brittney Griner were part of Team Delle Donne.

Fittingly enough, the all-time WNBA scorer and 3-point shooter opened the All-Star game with a three.

It’s Taurasi’s ninth appearance, which is tied for the third-most of any WNBA player. She only attempted four shots Saturday, instead deferring to her younger teammates. Taurasi finished with six assists and rebounds apiece.

Griner showed her mid-range touch. She’s made the All-Star game in five of her six seasons as a professional.

But Bonner, playing in her second All-Star game, stole the show from her Mercury teammates.

Coming in off the bench, she went 6-for-9 from the field and hit a three.

She also displayed her finishing abilities down low.

Bonner’s 13 points was the most of any Mercury player, and she helped Team Delle Donne keep close as they fought to get back into the game. After falling behind double-digits, they cut the lead to two late before Team Parker could pull away, winning 119-112.

The Mercury, 15-11, will resume play Tuesday against the Seattle Storm, who lead the WNBA with a 19-7 record.
