An ASU softball player and an alumna both threw no-hitters in the World Baseball Softball Confederation on Saturday.
Dallas Escobedo, who played for ASU from 2011-14, has the second-most wins (115) and strikeouts (1,222) in school history. She graduated with a career ERA of 2.01.
She showed what made her one of ASU’s best players ever with her dominant performance for Mexico.
In 97 pitches, Dallas struck out 11, walked two and hit a batter by pitch in her no-no. Mexico defeated the Philippines 2-0.

It’s not Escobedo’s first no-hitter; as a junior at ASU, she threw a no-no on Feb. 10, 2013, and then another in the postseason that year.
Her career postseason record as a Sun Devil was 17-3, including 10-0 as a freshman.
There’s a new girl in Tempe, though, and she didn’t let Escobedo outdo her Saturday.
Giselle Juarez, going into her junior year at ASU, no-hit the same Philippines team en route to a 3-0 win for Puerto Rico.
She struck out four and only walked one batter.
Juarez has quickly blossomed into an ace for the Sun Devils.
Over two seasons, she has a 26-6 record with a career ERA of 1.22. Of 32 starts, she has 26 complete games and has struck out 305 batters.
