The Cleveland Cavaliers didn’t win the NBA Finals, and former ASU star Damarious Randall avoided paying for a promise that he wouldn’t have been able to keep.

Randall tweeted before the finals that he’d buy a jersey for anyone who retweeted him if the Cavs beat the Golden State Warriors. Instead of buying jerseys for 227,000 people who took him up on the offer, the Cleveland Browns cornerback was saved by the Warriors’ four-game sweep.

But Randall decided to be a good guy anyway. He teamed up with Fanatics to hand out Browns jerseys to a Cleveland Boys & Girls Club.

As a kid, Randall attended the Boys & Girls Club in Pensacola, Fla., and knew that he could impact the kids’ lives with the gesture and time spent with them.

“This is something that I always wanted to, like, come back and give to the Boys & Girls Club. I knew back when I was growing up, to have a professional athlete in any profession come to just see me would have made my entire life,” he said.

Randall played card games, video games and shot hoops with the kids after handing out jerseys.

He also helped them make positives memories.

“It actually made me feel like a kid again,” Randall said with a good deed done and more money in his bank account thanks to the generosity of Fanatics’ donation.
