Because of the opponent, maybe it was hard to judge what the Arizona State Sun Devils accomplished against University of Texas San Antonio. Let’s agree that there were few complaints after coach Herm Edwards’ first game.

Receiver N’Keal Harry played like the star he is, running back Eno Benjamin didn’t take long to show out in his first start and ASU took control early before pulling away for a 49-7 win on Saturday.

But leading into a hosting of Big Ten opponent and No. 15-ranked Michigan State, maybe the most surprising thing in the 2018 opener was Arizona State’s defense that recorded 10 sacks and 15 tackles for loss, not to mention three turnovers.
