PHOENIX — For the tenth time in Phoenix Mercury guard Diana Taurasi’s illustrious career, she has made the All-WNBA First Team, the league announced.

It extends her record of first-team selections.

She set a record for most total All-WNBA teams with 13, passing Tamika Ctachings and Lisa Leslie, who both had 12.

Taurasi’s 20.7 points per game was the most she’s averaged since 2011. Her 106 3-pointers led the league and shot 92.5 percent from the free throw line.

In addition, her 5.3 assists per game was fourth-best in the league.

She made the All-Star game for the ninth time in her career.

Out of 39 voters, Taurasi received 31 first team votes and eight second team.

Mercury center Brittney Griner made the All-WNBA Second Team.

Griner once again led the league in blocks with 2.56 per game and scored the sixth-most points per game at 20.5.

It’s the second time Griner has made the second team. She also made the first team in 2014.

The two were integral parts of the Mercury’s playoff run. Phoenix lost in Game 5 of the semifinals to first-seeded Seattle Storm.
