One of the San Francisco 49ers best wide receivers has been deemed out for Sunday against the Arizona Cardinals.
Goodwin suffered from a leg injury all week and ESPN’s Adam Shefter tweeted that despite his tag as questionable in the 49ers injury report, he will not play due to injuries to his quad and hamstring.
Despite catching only five passes in three games this season for 54 yards and one touchdown, the speedster had an exceptional season in his first year in San Francisco last year.
Goodwin caught 56 passes for 962 yards and two touchdowns in 2017.
He was slated alongside Pierre Garcon as the top two receiving threats from the wide receiver position for the 49ers coming into the year.
Goodwin broke into the NFL scene as a third round pick in 2013 out of Texas. He was a two time NCAA champion in the long jump and posted what was then the third-fastest 40-yard dash time in NFL combine history at 4.27.
