Not one, not two, but three members of the Arizona Diamondbacks are 2018 Gold Glove finalists.
Pitcher Zack Greinke, shortstop Nick Ahmed and outfielder Jon Jay were named as finalists at their respected positions on Thursday.
Greinke is looking for his fifth consecutive Gold Glove. He is up against San Diego’s Clayton Richard and Atlanta’s Julio Teheran. If he takes home the hardware, Greinke will tie Ron Guidry, Phil Niekro and Kenny Rogers for seventh all-time among pitchers.
After making a number of highlight-reel plays, Ahmed is looking for his first career Gold Glove.

He has some fierce competition with San Francisco’s Brandon Crawford, who has won the award three consecutive years, and San Diego’s Freddy Galvis in the mix.
Jay is also looking to cash in on his big plays from 2018.

Looking for his first career Gold Glove, Jay’s up against Chicago’s Jason Heyward, who’s won the award five times, and Atlanta’s Nick Markakis, who has two Gold Gloves.
Leading the NL is the Milwaukee Brewers, who boast four finalists, while the Boston Red Sox have five in the AL.
In terms of the NL West, the D-backs are ahead of the pack with three, while the Dodgers did not have a finalist.
The winners will be announced on Nov. 4.
