Chad Johnson Jr., son of former NFL player, commits to ASU

The son of former NFL pro bowl wide receiver Chad Johnson, Chad Johnson Jr., has committed to the Arizona State Sun Devils’ 2020 class.

The wide receiver announced his commitment on Twitter on Monday.

According to 247 Sports, the four-star prospect from Venice High School in California received offers from Oregon State and Lane Kiffin’s Florida Atlantic, as well as Arizona State. Ultimately, he chose the Sun Devils, just two days after they beat the USC Trojans on the road not far from where Johnson currently attends high school.

He is the Sun Devils’ first commit for the 2020 class, according to 247.

Johnson Jr.’s father played 11 season in the NFL, starting with the Cincinnati Bengals for 10 years before finishing his career for a season with the New England Patriots. He reached the Pro Bowl six times, and was a two-time All-Pro selection.

Johnson Sr. attended Oregon State university and was a second-round selection in 2001 draft.
