The Phoenix Suns announced Tuesday they have assigned point guard Elie Okobo to the G League’s NAZ Suns.

After playing only 12 total minutes in the team’s first four games, Okobo became the team’s backup point guard in the last nine games, playing over 10 minutes in every game.

The second-round pick out of France has averaged 6.0 points, 1.5 rebounds and 2.3 assists per game this season.

Guard De’Anthony Melton had been with the NAZ Suns, recently posting 25 points, eight rebounds and three assists on Friday, but he was recalled by the Suns on Saturday.

The NAZ Suns play on Tuesday night while the Suns resume action on Wednesday against the San Antonio Spurs.
