The Arizona Cardinals are signing cornerback David Amerson, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
Amerson was drafted by the Washington Redskins in the second round of the 2013 NFL Draft. After starting in 2014, Amerson fell down the depth chart the next season and was released by Washington in the middle of the season.
The Raiders claimed Amerson off waivers and he impressed with four interceptions for Oakland. That led to the Raiders signing Amerson to a four-year deal worth $35 million, but after a foot injury ended his 2017 season seven games in, he was waived the next offseason by the Raiders in February.
Amerson signed a one-year deal with the Chiefs less than two weeks later but did not make the final roster and was waived at the start of September.
The Cardinals gained two open 53-man roster spots on Tuesday after placing guard Justin Pugh on injured reserve and releasing safety Eddie Pleasant.
