Arizona State basketball’s first road game of the season won’t come for a little longer.
The Sun Devils’ game against San Francisco, scheduled for Friday, has been postponed due to poor air quality in the Bay Area from nearby wildfires.
USF released a statement Thursday stating the two schools “are working together to find alternate plans for the Dons and Sun Devils to play.”
From the statement:
“With rising concerns for the health of everyone involved in Friday’s contest, as well as concerns for those affected by the tragic fires in Butte County and Southern California it was agreed that playing the game was not in the best interest of anyone.”
Northern Arizona’s football game against Sacramento State was canceled last Saturday due to similar air quality concerns.
ASU (3-0) will return to action on Monday against Mississippi State in Las Vegas.
NBC Sports’ Rob Dauster reports that the two schools are considering games to be played on Dec. 9-11.
