Mannion and House preview future ASU-Arizona basketball matchups

Dec 1, 2018, 9:13 AM | Updated: 2:58 pm

Arizona State and Arizona don’t clash in basketball until Jan. 31, but a precursor to what future matchups might look like went down Friday night at Pinnacle High School.

Arizona-recruit Nico Mannion and Pinnacle squared up against Shadow Mountain High School and ASU-recruit Jaelen House on the high school hardwood and the two did not disappoint.

With Pinnacle down by one, Mannion took the ball with little time remaining, crossed half court and heaved up a last second three.

He finished the game with 37 points leading Pinnacle (6-0) to an 82-80 victory.

Despite being held scoreless in the first half, the ASU-recruit and son of former NBA player Eddie House, Jaelen, finished the game with 19 points for Shadow Mountain.

Last season, Pinnacle won the 6A State Championship while Shadow Mountain won the 4A State Championship.
