Former Arizona Cardinals offensive coordinator Mike McCoy has an interview with the Jacksonville Jaguars on Tuesday, reports ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

If you can read that sentence out loud, you have done far better than the people in Schefter’s Twitter mentions, who remember that McCoy got the boot midway through the 2018 season, marking his third time being fired by an NFL team in less than two years.

When McCoy was fired, Arizona was converting third downs a paltry 23 percent of the time, with the second-worst Buffalo Bills sitting relatively far better at 28 percent.

The Cardinals had been outscored 49-7 in third quarters under McCoy, not something that reflects well coming out of a break meant for adjustments.

David Johnson and Larry Fitzgerald were no-shows, perhaps because the Cardinals ran an unimaginative offense of power packages calling for runs up the gut — not only was it predictable but easy to counter with poor performance and injuries along the offensive line.

The Cardinals were the second-worst scoring team at 13.1 points per game and last in rushing yards per game, total yards and yards per rush when McCoy got the boot following a Week 7 loss.

Anywho, wrap that together with McCoy’s other resume lows, and Twitter was having a field day with Schefter’s news.

To Schefter’s replies we go:

And a final thought from new Cardinals coach Kliff Kingsbury.
