It appears the Phoenix Suns aren’t willing to take any unnecessary risks with guard Devin Booker. He will be out Wednesday on the road against the Utah Jazz with a right hamstring injury, reports 98.7 FM Arizona’s Sports Station’s John Gambadoro.

Booker injured his hamstring with 6:27 left in a loss to the Houston Rockets on Monday.

“Just a little tightness. Just caught it before anything gets further than it was, but it will be fine,” Booker told reporters after the game.

But after the team took off Tuesday and with four games left before a week-long All-Star break from Feb. 13-21, Phoenix will hold Booker out as his team plays at elevation in Salt Lake City.

Booker has appeared in 42 of the Suns’ 55 games so far this season. Nine of those missed outings were due to a left hamstring injury.

The fourth-year guard is averaging 24.9 points, 6.7 assists and 3.8 rebounds per game.

Phoenix will play the Jazz down three regular starters: Booker, point guard De’Anthony Melton and forward T.J. Warren.

The Suns will likely turn to a starting lineup of Elie Okobo, Mikal Bridges, Kelly Oubre Jr., Josh Jackson and Deandre Ayton.
