In the days following the first weekend of game action, there are a lot of people talking about the Alliance of American Football — the new spring league masterminded by Charlie Ebersol and Bill Polian.

One of the players people are talking about is Arizona Hotshots quarterback John Wolford, who completed 18-of-29 passes for 275 yards and four touchdowns in a 38-22 inaugural game win over the Salt Lake Stallions Sunday at Sun Devil Stadium.

For his efforts, Wolford was named as the AAF Offensive Player of the Week Tuesday.

Wolford, a Wake Forest product, was joined by Orlando Apollos linebacker Terrence Garvin and Birmingham Iron kicker Nick Novak, who collected the defensive and special teams honors, respectively.

Wolford and the Hotshots hit the road for the first time in 2019 as they visit the Memphis Express at the Liberty Bowl Saturday night.
