D-backs catcher Tyler Heineman wows team with card tricks

Mar 4, 2019, 2:22 PM

Spring training is off to a magical start for the Arizona Diamondbacks.

The D-backs posted a four-minute video of catcher/magician Tyler Heineman performing card tricks inside the clubhouse on social media.

Heineman was impressive and left some speechless. That’s one way to make a name for yourself.

If only he could do what this D-backs fan proposed to him:

Heineman, 27, is in his eighth season of professional baseball after he was drafted in the eighth round in 2012 by the Houston Astros. He played at UCLA and is the brother of Scott Heineman, a prospect in the Texas Rangers organization.

The California native is not on the D-backs’ 40-man roster but received an invite to spring training.
