The annual ruckus that is Mardi Gras is back in full swing in NOLA.
The spirit(s) of the festival even made its way to Salt Lake City, courtesy of Pelicans and former Suns head coach Alvin Gentry.
Coming off a 115-112 win in which the Pels knocked off a Western Conference playoff team in the Utah Jazz, Gentry was jacked up with the impressive win.
Maybe a little too jacked.

Not letting the moment slip away, the coach took the 20-minute interval between the end of the game and his interview with the media to toss back a few cold ones.
“Obviously they were hurting us on the pick-and-roll with, well with both guys, with Favors and Gobert rolling to the basket,” Gentry said. “But, excuse me, I’ve had a couple beers. Sorry.”
The media scrum, along with Gentry, broke out into laughter after the confession, with one person even saying, “you deserve it.”
There might not beΒ isn’t a coach more deserving of a drink than Gentry this season.
After making the playoffs last season, New Orleans fell on dark times this year, losing games and starting center Anthony Davis’ interest, who later requested a trade.
But the flowing ales must be the new secret stuff for the team as New Orleans is riding a three-game winning streak heading into a home bout with the Jazz.
We need the real question asked, however.
With the Pelicans coming back to Smoothie King Arena, does Gentry switch up his postgame drink of choice with a few southern classics in hurricanes or daiquiris or does he stick with the hops?
Cheers, Gentry.
