Although Grand Canyon lost in the WAC Championship Game to New Mexico State, the Antelopes season will continue after accepting a postseason invitation to the College Basketball Invitational.
GCU will travel to face West Virginia in an opening round match up on Wednesday, the team announced on Twitter.
It is the second year in a row that the Lopes will appear in the CBI after falling to Mercer in a first round match up last season.
Since transitioning to Division I in 2013, GCU has qualified for a postseason tournament in five out of six seasons.
Their best finish was in 2015-16 making a run to the CIT Quarterfinals.
The CBI is a 16-team, single-elimination tournament beginning on March 19. After the quarterfinals, the tournament is re-bracketed and the final two teams will compete in a best of three series to determine the champion.
