The Pulse: Suns’ biggest need heading into draft is forward

Jun 10, 2014, 2:01 AM | Updated: 2:01 am

Every day, ArizonaSports.com asks readers a question. It’s the Sanderson Ford Poll Question of the Day, and it can be found midway down the right side of our home page.

On Sunday, we asked you which position the Phoenix Suns have the greatest need at as they enter the 2014 NBA draft.

More than 800 votes were submitted, and the results’ show that the Suns’ biggest need is in the front court — specifically at power forward.

Nearly 50 percent of voters said that is Phoenix’s biggest need, while 23 percent voted for small forward and 17 percent voted for center. Fans appear confident in the team’s back court headlined by Goran Dragic and Eric Bledsoe, as just 10 percent voted for the two guard positions.

Miles Plumlee and Channing Frye spent the most time at power forward last season, while Marcus and Markieff Morris also saw time there. Their top target this offseason may very well be the acquisition of a power forward — Minnesota’s Kevin Love — via trade.
