Suns G Jimmer Fredette won’t miss time after birth of 2nd child

Mar 29, 2019, 2:05 PM

Phoenix Suns guard Jimmer Fredette is not expected to miss a game due to the birth of his second child.

Fredette posted a picture of he, his wife Whitney, daughter Wesley and a healthy newborn Taft Russell Fredette on Friday afternoon, a day after Whitney gave birth to the boy.

Phoenix head coach Igor Kokoskov said Fredette left the team to be with his wife after the Suns fell at home to the Washington Wizards on Wednesday. Fredette is expected back for shootaround Saturday as the Suns prepare to host the Memphis Grizzlies.

Fredette signed with the Suns on March 21 after his season in China’s top pro basketball league came to an end. The 30-year-old has appeared in two of four games since joining Phoenix.

In 18 combined minutes against the Sacramento Kings and Utah Jazz, the former BYU star and No. 10 pick in the 2011 NBA Draft has gone 1-for-11 from the field and scored six points.
