The Pulse: Fans not sure how Isaiah Thomas fits with Suns

Jul 13, 2014, 8:47 PM | Updated: 8:47 pm

Every day, ArizonaSports.com asks readers a question. It’s the Sanderson Ford Poll Question of the Day, and it can be found midway down the right side of our home page.

This weekend, we asked our readers what they thought of the Phoenix Suns’ acquisition of point guard Isaiah Thomas in a sign-and-trade deal with the Sacramento Kings.

Already equipped with a loaded backcourt, featuring the likes of Goran Dragic, Archie Goodwin, Tyler Ennis, Gerald Green and potentially restricted free agent Eric Bledsoe, the Suns’ pickup left some puzzled.

Of the 797 voters polled, a majority (45 percent) where OK with the deal but not sure of how the former Husky will fit in.

The next most common reaction, taking in 206 of the 797 votes, was that the Suns could have used their money more effectively — in terms of addressing other needs.

Thomas was, however, a 20-point per game scorer a season ago, leaving at least a quarter of our participants excited about the move.
