Former Atlanta Falcons defensive tackle Terrell McClain signed a one-year deal with the Arizona Cardinals on Wednesday. The team also announced that it released receiver Malachi Dupre.

The 30-year-old McClain spent 2018 with Atlanta and accumulated 17 tackles and 1.0 sack while appearing in 13 games and starting five.

According to Yahoo! Sports’ Eric Edholm, McClain visited with Arizona on Monday.

McClain had his most productive years with the Dallas Cowboys from 2014-16, tallying 40 tackles with 2.5 sacks and two forced fumbles in his last year there. A third-round pick by the Panthers in 2011, McClain has also played for Carolina (2011), Houston (2013) and Washington (2017).

With the Texans, McClain spent time with then-Houston defensive backs coach Vance Joseph, who is now a first-year defensive coordinator for the Cardinals.

The 6-foot-2, 300-pound McClain could add depth with a strong camp.

He would join a projected defensive line rotation for Arizona that includes tackles Corey Peters and Rodney Gunter, plus ends Darius Philon and Zach Allen. Veteran Cameron Malveaux and rookie Michael Dogbe will also vie for depth roles.

The Cardinals could also see 2016 first-round pick Robert Nkemdiche return at some point this season. He is currently on the mend from a torn ACL suffered at the end of 2018.
