The Arizona Diamondbacks have recalled RHP Bo Takahashi from Double-A Jackson, the team announced in a press release on Sunday.

Right-handed pitcher Stefan Crichton was optioned to Triple-A Reno following Saturday night’s 11-6 loss to the San Francisco Giants.

Takahashi will be making his MLB debut upon his first appearance in a D-backs jersey with No. 52 stitched on his back.

The 22-year-old was a Southern League midseason All-Star with his 4-3 record, 3.60 ERA, 45 strikeouts, 19 walks and .215 opponent batting average against right-handed hitters over 55 innings pitched (12 starts) in the first half of his 2019 campaign.

In totality for the Generals this season, he owns an 8-6 record, 3.87 ERA, 93 punchouts, 36 walks and .245 opponent batting average over 107 innings of work (21 starts).

He will become the first Brazilian-born player to play for the Diamondbacks and the sixth in MLB history.

In six Minor League seasons in the D-backs’ organization, Takahashi has posted a 38-33 record to go along with a 4.18 ERA while fanning 485 batters, allowing 179 free passes and a .245 opponent batting average over 104 starts (555.1 innings pitched).

The Brazilian was also a California League midseason All-Star in 2017 and played for Team Brazil in the World Baseball Classic qualifier that same year.

Takahashi signed as a non-drafted free agent on Dec. 23, 2013.

Crichton made 15 appearances for the D-backs this season, posting a 4.05 ERA over 20 innings of work while striking out 18 hitters, and allowing five walks and a .216 opponent average.
