Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald is known for his generosity in the community.
Fitzgerald’s charity, First Down Fund, recently partnered with singer Garth Brooks’ organization, Teammates for Kids Foundation, to donate Microsoft technology and devices to 32 schools in the Phoenix and Minneapolis areas.
According to Microsoft, the project’s goal is to promote digital literacy for students.
In a video by Microsoft Store, Brooks said that it’s a great opportunity to be able to provide technology like this so every kid has a fair shot.
Academia Del Pueblo, a K-8 charter school in Phoenix, was one of the schools to receive the devices.
“This area is my home, and it’s an honor to be able to help empower the next generation to build on the things we all love about this community,” Fitzgerald said in the post.
Academia Del Pueblo said in a separate Instagram post that said the event was a complete surprise for its kids.
