The Diamondbacks announced Friday they have placed right-handed pitcher Aaron Heilman on the 15-day DL with shoulder tendinitis.
Heilman has posted a 12.15 ERA while giving up nine earned runs, three home runs, and two walks with seven strikeouts in 6.2 innings so far this season.
In his last appearance against the Cardinals Wednesday, Heilman was charged with six runs and a walk with two strikeouts over 1.2 innings.
Heilman was beaten out for the final spot in the Diamondbacks’ bullpen before the season by Armando Galarraga.
The team also announced they are recalling right-handed pitcher Josh Collmenter from Triple-A Reno.
Collmenter, 25, allowed two runs on two hits and two walks with seven strikeouts in six innings during his only start with Reno on April 10.
Over five seasons with the D-backs organization, he has a 41-27 record and a 3.50 ERA with 176 walks and 472 strikeouts in 94 games.
