After every Arizona Diamondbacks game we’ll examine the
box score and provide you with instant analysis. So it’s
time to go Inside the Box for April 16, 2011: Giants 5,
Diamondbacks 3

The Good

The Diamondbacks got to Giants starter Barry Zito early,
tagging him for three hits and two runs in just one and
two thirds innings. Third baseman Melvin Mora had a pair
of hits and knocked in a run.

The Bad

Joe Saunders allowed 12 hits while the Diamondbacks
mustered just six on the night. The Giants bullpen limited
the Diamondbacks to just three hits in 7.1 innings of
work, striking out seven in the process. A pair of hitting
streaks also died Saturday evening, as Willie Bloomquist
(10) and Justin Upton (7) each failed to reach base.

The Funky:

The Diamondbacks tied a franchise record by turning five
double plays on the evening, which was the fourth time in
the team’s history that mark has been reached.
