Inside the Box: Mets sweep D-backs all the way to Arizona

Apr 24, 2011, 9:27 PM | Updated: 9:55 pm

After every Arizona Diamondbacks game we’ll examine the
box score and provide you with instant analysis. So it’s
time to go Inside the Box for April 24, 2011:
Mets 8, Diamondbacks 4

The Good:

This was difficult. You start the road trip with consecutive wins and then lose four days in a row.

The positive from Sunday for the Diamondbacks would be Stephen Drew. He went 3-for-4 with two doubles and two RBI. Drew is now hitting .344 on the season.

The Bad:

Unfortunately it was Armando Galarraga’s outing. The reason it’s unfortunate is because he only lasted three innings and gave up six runs but only two of those were earned. A Ryan Roberts error in the third inning would help the Mets score four and push the lead to 6-0.

The Funky:

Sunday was Galarraga’s first loss on the season. He is now 3-1 with an ERA of 6.00. Yes, an ERA of 6.00. As long as you are getting wins, your ERA doesn’t matter too much.
