After every Arizona Diamondbacks game we’ll examine the
box score and provide you with instant analysis. So it’s
time to go Inside the Box for April 26, 2011:
Diamondbacks 7, Phillies 5
The Arizona Diamondbacks assured themselves of at least taking the series with the Philadelphis Phillies with an impressive 7-5 win on Tuesday heading into the finale.
Ryan Roberts was once again the star of the night.
The D-backs supposed utility infielder belted his fifth home run of the season, but even more impressive made a spectacular catch over the railing.
Roberts wasn’t even expected to make the Diamondbacks team out of Spring Training, but due to the injury to Geoff Blum, Roberts will probably now end up playing a full season with the big league club.
In addition to Roberts stellar play, Daniel Hudson seems to be regaining the form of last season.
In getting his first win of the season, Hudson gave up only three runs in six innings outpitching All-Star Roy Oswalt in the process.
The bullpen made things interesting in the ninth inning giving up two runs, but was able to close out the game improving Arizona’s record to 10-12.
