People tuning in to watch D-backs

The Arizona Diamondbacks are seeing renewed interest as they’ve climbed to first place in the NL West.

Winners of seven in a row and 15 of their last 17, the Diamondbacks are being watched by more people now than they have been in a while.

According to the Phoenix Business Journal, the 5.1 rating the team’s Memorial Day win over Florida generated was the highest for a D-backs game this season.

The D-backs have won 15 of their past 17 games, vaulting into first place in the National League West. The team and its media partners (FSAZ and KTAR 620-AM) hope the Arizona team’s success this season results in higher media ratings and attendance.

It should not be a surprise that people are more interested in what is going on down at Chase Field, as fans tend to enjoy winning far more than they do losing. That said, it’s up to the Diamondbacks to keep this up, because if there’s anything the local fans have proven it is that they can be a rather fickle bunch.
