With the announcement of the Major League Baseball All-Star teams just less than a month away, there are two Arizona Diamondbacks in the top-10 of the voting at their respective positions.
Stephen Drew ranks fifth among shortstops with 303,811 votes while Justin Upton is tenth among outfielders with 338,487 votes.
If selected, Drew would be a member of the all-star team for the first time in his career while Upton would be making his second appearance.
Drew is currently hitting .285 this season and leads the Diamondbacks with 33 RBI.
Upton, who is batting .268, leads the team in hits with 60 and is third in RBI with 30.
The All-Star rosters will officially be announced July 3, but it is becoming clear as to who a lot of the starters will be.
Brewers outfielder Ryan Braun is currently the National League’s leading vote getter. Cardinals teammates Matt Holliday and Lance Berkman rank second and third in the N.L. outfield while Albert Pujols and Troy Tulowitzki and the leading vote getters at short stop and first base.
This year’s All-Star game will take place July 12, at Chase Field.
