ARIZONA DIAMONDBACKS

Archie Bradley set to meet with Diamondbacks

The Arizona Diamondbacks are on the clock. Not to make a pick, but rather to sign one.

On Monday the D-backs drafted right-handed high school phenom pitcher Archie Bradley with the seventh pick overall. In most cases the club would have plenty of time to try and sign the highly touted young arm but his situation is different.

Bradley has committed to play football as a quarterback for the University of Oklahoma and he must make a decision on his future before the August 15th deadline.

Take a signing bonus from a Major League Baseball team that will likely be well in the seven-figure range or become one of the most popular kids on a football crazy college campus? At 18-years-old, it’s not a bad predicament to find yourself in. It’s also one he’s been thinking about a lot since Monday.
