D-backs to target bullpen help, maybe San Diego’s Bell?

Jul 14, 2011, 4:50 PM | Updated: 6:03 pm

The Diamondbacks would like to make a move.

Though they’re just three games back of the first place San Francisco Giants, they understand there is room to improve.

Specifically, in the bullpen.

“For us, I think the biggest impact we can have on this team is bullpen help,” D-backs President and CEO Derrick Hall said on Sports 620 KTAR’s Doug and Wolf show Thursday.

Possible targets could include San Diego closer Heath Bell, though Hall talked about the difficulty in making a trade with a division rival. Combine that with the fact that Bell is one of the most desired players on the market, and the price tag could get a little high for the team in Sedona Red.
