Diamondbacks focused on themselves, not Giants

Jul 28, 2011, 3:29 PM | Updated: 4:40 pm

The San Francisco Giants may have made the biggest trade deadline splash thus far, but the Arizona Diamondbacks are not going to panic.

When the Giants acquired Carlos Beltran from the New York Mets, they sent a loud and clear message that they want to repeat as NL West, National League and World Series champions.

Despite the big move by the Giants, Diamondbacks president and CEO Derrick Hall says the D-backs are only focused on themselves.

“Our priorities don’t change,” Hall said on Sports 620 KTAR’s Doug and Wolf. “We know what we need to do. You can’t get crazy. You can’t push the panic button because one team makes a move.”

Hall remained firm in his stance that he will not trade the future of the team in an attempt to win solely in 2011.
