The Arizona Diamondbacks have done a good job keeping pace with the San Francisco Giants

Having taken the first game of a three-game series in the Bay Area, the D-backs are now in position to not only catch the defending World Series Champions, but pass them too.

“It was pretty exciting in the clubhouse [Monday],” D-backs GM Kevin Towers told Sports 620 KTAR’s Doug and Wolf Tuesday. “Actually, even before the game there was a pretty good sense that our team was ready for this game and nobody looked on edge.

“If anything the Giants looked tight and our guys looked loose.”

That may be, because as Towers said, the team’s manager has a way of keeping everyone calm and ready to play. He said Kirk Gibson and the team do not really concern themselves with the opponent, no matter who it is.
