PHOENIX – The Arizona Diamondbacks have purchased the
contract of left-handed pitcher Wade Miley from Triple-A Reno and
placed right-handed pitcher Jason Marquis on the 15-day disabled
list. Miley was 4-1 with a 3.64 ERA (22 ER in 54.1 IP) and .255
opponents average with 16 walks and 56 strikeouts in 8 starts with
Reno.

The team said Tuesday Marquis has a fractured right fibula after
he was hit by a line drive Sunday against the New York Mets.

General manager Kevin Towers says the team also designated
right-handed pitcher Kevin Mulvey for assignment.
