The Arizona Diamondbacks signed free agent right handed
pitcher Chris Jakubauskas to a minor league contract on
Tuesday.

Jakubauskas, 32, pitched in 33 games for the Baltimore
Orioles in 2011, starting 6. He posted a 2-2 record with
a 5.72 ERA in 72.1 innings of work.

Jakubauskas broke the news himself on Twitter when he
posted the following:

Have new home for 2012. Heading back west to
the Valley of the Sun. Looking forward to meeting new
teammates and improving on 2011.

Jakubauskas broke into the big leagues in 2009 with
Seattle, putting up a 6-7 record and a 5.32 ERA in 35
games (8 starts).

He was selected off waivers by Pittsburgh prior to the
2010 season, and spent most of the season in the Pirates’
minor league system.
