Bauer, Bradley top D-backs’ prospect list

Baseball America put out it’s list of the top ten
prospects for each MLB franchise, and there’s a decidedly
new look atop that list for the Arizona Diamondbacks.

Trevor Bauer and Archie Bradley, who were both selected in
the 2011 MLB First Year Player Draft last June, are listed
as the top two prospects in the Arizona organization.

Bauer, a right-hander out of UCLA, was picked third
overall and pitched 25.2 innings split between Class-A
Visalia and Double-A Mobile, posting a 1-2 record with a
5.96 ERA. This followed a remarkable career with the
Bruins, which was capped by Bauer winning the 2011 Golden
Spikes Award, handed out to the nation’s best amateur
baseball player.

Bradley, also a right-handed pitcher, was picked 7th
overall out of Broken Arrow (OK) High School. After
signing his first pro contract, Bradley made two
appearances for the Pioneer Rookie League’s Missoula
Osprey. He allowed 1 hit and struck out four in two
innings of work.

The Diamondbacks’ list is dominated by pitching. Joining
Bauer and Bradley in the top ten are lefties Tyler Skaggs
(3rd), David Holmberg (7th), Wade Miley (9th) and Patrick
Corbin (10th) and right-hander Jarrod Parker (4th).

Also on the list are 3B/1B Matt Davidson, outfielder A.J.
Pollock and shortstop Chris Owings.
