Diamondbacks make roster moves

Mar 15, 2012, 7:23 PM | Updated: 8:27 pm

As spring training continues to roll along the Arizona
Diamondbacks — like every other team — will have to start
trimming their roster.

That process began Thursday with the announcement of 12
roster moves.

The club optioned pitchers Johathan Albaladejo, Joe
Martinez and Zach Kroenke, as well as outfielder Cole
Gillespie and catcher Konrad Schmidt to Triple-A Reno, and
reassigned pitchers Mike DeMark, Jason Lane and infielder
Ryan Wheeler there, too.

Heading to Double-A Mobile are pitchers Evan Marshall and
Kevin Munson, as well as outfielder Marc Krauss.

Infielder Chris Owings was sent to Single-A Visalia.

Arizona now has 45 players in Major League camp, including
11 non-roster players.
