Largest opening weekend attendance for Diamondbacks since 2003

The Arizona Diamondbacks had more than 108,000 fans at
Chase Field for Opening Weekend, the most
since the first weekend of the 2003 season (113,709).

A crowd of 49,130 on Friday was the fourth-largest
regular-season crowd
in Diamondbacks history and third-largest on Opening
Day.

“We want to thank our fans for making Opening Weekend such
a
great success,” said D-backs’ President & CEO Derrick
Hall.
“Not only was Opening Day a success, but throughout the
entire weekend our fans created a fun and lively
atmosphere
in support of our D-backs and the team responded with a
sweep. There is a lot of buzz right now surrounding this
team and the unparalleled experience at Chase Field.”

The aforementioned crowd of 49,130 on Friday and then
34,789
on Saturday and 24,193 on Sunday to cap the three-game
homestand.
