The Arizona Cardinals are going to keep one of their veteran defensive linemen around for a little while longer.

As reported by ESPN.com’s Josh Weinfuss, the team has agreed to a one-year contract extension with Frostee Rucker. The deal will keep him in Arizona through the 2016 season.

Rucker originally joined the Cardinals in 2013 and played well as a backup, but really stepped up last season when he filled in for an injured Darnell Dockett. In 2014, the former third-round pick amassed 37 total tackles along with a career-high five sacks. He also forced two fumbles.

The 31-year-old is entering his ninth NFL season and is expected to once again be a starter along the team’s defensive line.
