Phoenix Suns center Alex Len went into the NBA Draft Lottery excited for the experience and left not wanting to go back.
Len’s luck ran dry and the team failed to move up from the number 13 spot. Len took to Twitter to express his disappointment:
Let's make that the last draft lottery in a long time #sunsnation

It’s a very different attitude from his original reaction to finding out he’d be representing the team at the lottery.
“I’ve actually only watched one or two of them,” he said. “I watched the one when I was — my year, 2013. I don’t really know exactly the structure, like what I’m supposed to do. But I’m excited. I’m definitely going to bring some luck, that’s what I’m hoping for.”
The Suns center was sent to the lottery with simple instructions from GM Ryan McDonough.
“Pay no attention to the odds and bring us home a top-three pick,” McDonough told Len.
Easier said than done, as the rookie to the event proved the odds needed more than luck to be in the team’s favor.
The Suns entered the draft with a 2.18 percent chance of jumping into the top three, with a close to impossible 0.6 percent for landing the top overall selection.
It was the Suns’ fifth straight lottery appearance.
