Diamondbacks’ Archie Bradley continues to struggle on the mound

...

Arizona Diamondbacks pitcher Archie Bradley had another rough start Tuesday in St. Louis.

Bradley (2-2) opened the first with back-to-back walks, and it went downhill from there — he gave up six runs in 3.2 innings pitched with just three strikeouts in a 6-4 loss to the Cardinals.

It was his third shaky outing in a row after coming off the 15-day disabled list on May 16 — he took a line drive to the face in Colorado on April 28 and suffered a sinus fracture.

He didn’t blame his recent outings on his injury, however.

“The injury, it’s past,” Bradley said, following the game. “It’s just bad baseball, it’s bad pitching, it’s bad pitches, it’s bad sequences.

“Just everything is not good right now and I know that. I don’t feel sorry for myself. I don’t think anyone else should. I’ve just got to get it fixed. I’ve got to get it fixed quick.”

Bradley has given up 14 runs in 10.2 innings pitched since he returned to the mound.

In April, he made a stellar Major League debut, posting a 1.80 ERA while allowing nine hits, striking out 14 and walking 11 in 20 innings pitched. He earned two victories in his first three starts, but hasn’t won since April 22.
