Diamondbacks unlikely to trade Justin Upton ‘in-season’

Diamondbacks president Derrick Hall did not tell ESPN.com the team would not
trade
Justin Upton.
What Hall did say was that he would “be completely shocked
if
anything were to happen in-season.”
MLB’s trade deadline is a week away, but it appears the D-backs,
once thought to be more than ready to part with
their
right fielder, are instead planning on keeping him for the
rest
of the summer.
After that, though, where Upton will be playing next year
is
anyone’s guess, but Hall said it makes more sense to
explore a
deal in the offseason.
“You have a better chance of moving a star-caliber player
like
Justin in the offseason, when teams know exactly where
they
finished and where they’re heading, and they can get more
creative.“We’ll field all proposals and conversations. You never
know.
But I would be surprised if anything happens in the
offseason,
either.”
So there you have it, if the D-backs are going to trade
Upton
odds are the move will be made after the season.
If, of course, a move is made at all.
